Um das Spiel zu spielen, bewegen sich die Spieler zwischen verschiedenen Orten und interagieren sowohl mit den Orten als auch mit anderen Spielern⁵. Die "Guten" sammeln nach und nach Bücher, um eine Punkteleiste zu füllen, die für den Sieg im Spiel wichtig ist⁶. Natürlich müssen die Kultisten dies verhindern und können beispielsweise Sabotagekarten in Räumen spielen⁶.
Das Spiel wurde von Stefan Godot entworfen¹⁶. Es ist für 4-8 Spieler konzipiert⁵⁶ und eine Partie dauert etwa 45-90 Minuten⁶.
Die Grafik des Spiels wurde von Jose David Lanza Cebrian, Stephen Gibson, Jarrod Owen, Andreas Schroth und Karsten Schulmann gestaltet¹⁶.
